The Power of Simple Kindness

Still on the Big Island of Hawaii, after an excellent seminar with Dr.
George Pratt--"Power of Energy." I am sitting on the beach listening
to David Hawkins' book, "Power Vs. Force," this Saturday afternoon on
Labor Day Weekend, and was struck by the simple and profound truth of the
following excerpt from the audio book, which I highly recommend
buying!

"... What we do to benefit life, automatically benefits all of us because
we are all included in that which is life. We are life. It is a
scientific fact that what is good for you, is good for me. Simple
kindness to oneself and all that lives is the most powerful
transformational force of all. It produces no backlash, has no
downside, and never leads to loss or despair. It increases ones own
true power without exacting any toll...."

The Perfect Gift

I love this Buckminster Fuller quote, as I feel it speaks to the need for each one of us to accept ourselves fully and ask the question, "How can I best be in service to life itself?"


"Everyone has the perfect gift to give the world - and if each of us is freed up to give the gift that is uniquely ours to give, the world will be in total harmony." 


I am always asking myself, "How can I best be in service to others, life, and to my unique purpose?"  
I am and will always be a practitioner -- receiving joy from working with the individual in achieving their highest potential -- however, working one-on-one reaches only a small amount of people. Therefore, I am grateful for the opportunity to have written, "Back in Charge!:  A guide to harnessing the power of your brain to create the life you'll love."  Some of you may know exactly what your gift is and how you want to offer it to the world; others of you who may not be so clear--your conditioning may be getting in your way of discovering your unique gift.  For you, I encourage you to pick up a copy of "Back in Charge!" and bring your conditioning into alignment with what you really want!

Find the Opportunity!

While doing some research for a talk I'll be giving at SeaHorse Capital at the end of this month, I came across some notes from previous talks that I thought you might find interesting -- about finding opportunity within periods of transition and crisis.

When John F. Kennedy claimed that the Chinese symbol for crisis also meant opportunity, he wasn't exactly accurate. But the concept he was describing is true. Within every seeming crisis, there is an opening, the possibility of something better to emerge. Open your eyes and your mind to give yourself the chance to see that opportunity for yourself.

Actor Harrison Ford once noted, "We all have big changes in our lives that are more or less a second chance. "

Power of Imagination

The following is an exercise from Chapter 6, Power of Imagination, of my new book, Back In Charge!

EXERCISE: Mental Health Break

Research from the Institute of HeartMath shows that experiencing pleasure or appreciation releases endorphins into the body, and five minutes of experiencing positive feelings is enough to counteract the toxic chemicals released during hours of stress! Within your brain, you easily have five minutes worth of pleasant memories. Flex your imagination muscles and heal your body by spending just five minutes a day recalling these great memories. Make it a regular part of your daily routine, maybe while commuting to work or brushing your teeth. Five pleasant minutes first thing in the morning will set you up for an endorphin-filled day. Five minutes at night will ensure a wonderful night’s sleep!

I love this quote of William James, America's first psychologist.

“The world we see that seems so insane is the result of a belief system that is not working. To perceive the world differently, we must be willing to change our belief system, let the past slip away, expand our sense of now, and dissolve the fear in our minds."

You can become your own conditioner. You can get your brain supporting all you want to be and do and have. It's up to you!
