Read results from those who've decided to Snap Out of It NOW!

Read what readers say about Dr. A’s “Back In Charge!"

"I have to tell you... I am now on page 113 of 143 of your book -- got up very early this morning and have been peacefully reading it ever since.  Had to drag myself away from it in order to get ready to get into the office by 8:30am!  It is very definitely having an affect on me - a good one.  As I read I find myself wanting to have all 3 of my girls to start reading it immediately too!   When I got to work I used some of your tools and was able to do something that I have been struggling with for years, so I am experiencing immediate results! Thank you!"

"I just read both of your books and want to thank you! What you've written makes so much sense! I feel I finally have tools which will help me to change my life to the life I think I was meant to live. It is easy to see how I've been conditioned and now I have tools to change those conditions so I don't keep cycling back to the same issues again and again.

So keep selling those books and giving those talks! The more of us "in the zone" the better the world!  I appreciate you."

LOVED it!!!!! It’s so interesting and thought-provoking. (As a bonus, it is a well-written, enjoyable read! )

Your discussion of conditioning is brilliant AND empowering. It places the responsibility squarely on the individual and their own thought patterns and practices--not external things we cannot control. I like how you clearly and thoroughly explain the problem, then provide tangible, realistic steps for addressing that problem (e.g., changing emotional conditioning).

I also loved your examples, especially the one of the unsolved math problem! It’s such a great illustration of how we limit ourselves.  It’s really amazing to think of all the power we have to change our brain circuitry—as shown in the OCD study. ANOTHER reason for me to keep working on my meditation! I have also been journaling for many years and found it to be VERY therapeutic for dealing with my “Monsters,” so I was pleased to see this recommendation.

As I’ve been reading your book, I catch myself listening to what I’m thinking and saying in a new way now. I think being more cognizant of conditioned messages will help me achieve my goals, and hopefully help me be a better parent.

I have written down the 4 steps to rewiring and will put them to practice! Thank you!!

Viewers’ Thoughts about Dr. A’s PBS Specials…

"I was going through all the channels on Saturday evening and stopped when I saw your show on Channel 11 PBS.  I had not heard of you before.  I started Facebook about three weeks ago and started Twitter a couple of days ago and I signed up for both with you.  I would like to have a private session with you sometime in the future.  I sell real estate.  In this economic market, do you have room to schedule sessions for all 21,000 San Diego County real estate agents?  Ha, Ha.

Here is my psychological assessment of your program.  Assessment of you--I expected you to be intelligent so I will not mention that, but what came through on the television program and was most impressive was your "sincerity."  There is a new era coming soon in personal development and you are in the right place at the right time.

"I saw your Public Television Special yesterday on our local PBS station, WCET--Cincinnati. I was thoroughly impressed with your material and your presentation; the use of visual aids was a superb memory device. Your lecture was entertaining and enlightening. Thank you for both.

You are a beautiful, intelligent, and insightful woman with a powerful message that can benefit many. I admire your confidence and your energy.

May the spirit bless you, keep you safe and bring great joy into your life."

"Dear Adrianne, once again you are right on the money.  I read your newsletter and within an hour's time was faced with a decision out of my control that not only made me angry but also had me reaching for sweets to compensate.  As I held the candy in my hand your question popped into my mind.  "Does my reaction (eating candy) serve me?"  Of course the answer was no.

So simple and yet an unconscious habit I was perpetuating.

Once again thank you.  When I attended the taping of your public television show, I stopped biting my nails that very day.  After reading your newsletter this morning, I'm hoping to replace bad foods with good."

"After being at the filming of your TV show, I came back to town and played in the first round of the Club Championship at my golf club.  I remembered to do the breathing you taught, and shot an 84, which with my handicap, means I came in with the "Lowest Net Over the Whole Field".  In other words, no one was lower than me!

Didn't do as well the next week, but still came in 2nd low net, so I went out and bought your book.  Looking forward to getting the DVD of the show and your newest book!"

"Having lost my job, due to the current economic conditions, I often find myself overwhelmed at the prospects of my future. After seeing your public television program, Snap Out of it Now!® I have begun to implement the exercises to un-program my self-defeating talk. I am already noticing the difference in my anxiety levels which is allowing me to think more clearly and creatively. Because I am also looking at a possible career change, your lesson on how to prepare for a new challenge is also very helpful."

And more...

"With a life that revolves around constant deadlines, I find Dr. A's techniques for snapping out of mental blocks and limitations both brilliant and easy. The athlete in me adores her methods for achieving peak performance—whether I'm on the first chapter of a new book, or in the third set of a tennis match."

"I heard that if you quit smoking by the time you’re 30, your lungs can regenerate themselves and be completely healthy organs again. I’m not sure it that is really true, but I've used this "fact" as a reason not to quit, thinking “OK, I'll just quit after I turn 29.”

Well, after turning 28 and having smoked for almost 10 years (wow, that’s even shocking to write down), I found out my plan wasn’t going to work. Previously, I tried several times to quit cold turkey. It would last for a few months, but every time I hit a bump in the road, I'd let myself have “one” cigarette which turned into a pack then a carton…oops, I’m a smoker again.
I purchased your Body as Healer - Become a Non-Smoker audio CD. After listening and putting your advice into practice, the appeal of “one” cigarette to calm my nerves disappeared. I’ve been a non-smoker for over a year now and I turn 30 in May. I don’t think I could have done it without your help. Thank you so much!"

"I used an exercise from your book recently and wanted to share my experience.

I've been really frustrated with my husband for not helping around the house more -- even though I've nagged him about it for months (which were not fun for either of us!). But the other day, when I started fuming, I stopped and told myself "He didn't squeegee the shower. Period." I didn't get into my usual follow-up thoughts (conditioned reaction?) of "He's so inconsiderate. I do all the work around here. If he really loved me, he would help", etc, etc. Instead, I stayed very calm and simply said, "Would you please squeegee the shower doors?"

Rather than getting into a fight, he immediately went to do it saying, 'I'm sorry, hon. Why do I keep forgetting that?" I was totally surprised! This is a small example, but I've been using The Facts. Period. exercise a lot since then and the atmosphere in our household is a lot more pleasant!"

"Stress, both physical and emotional, plays a big part in the onset of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. The lack of understanding and compassion from the medical community, family members and friends adds stress to the lives of those of us with CFS, as do disappointment and self doubt, which then amplifies the stress-induced characteristics of the illness. A few of us in our support group have used Dr. Ahern’s methodology and feel that it has contributed greatly to our overall sense of well-being by recognizing negative behavior patterns, next understanding the stress that negativity creates, then reprogramming our thought process so as to reduce and, in many cases, get rid of those behaviors and the stress it induces."
